Brain-Damaged Nation

What is it with North Korea?  Somebody's a few grains short of a rice bowl up there.  They agree back in the '90's not to make nuclear weapons in exchange for bribes (more of Jimmy Carter's handiwork), but actually work on their nukes anyway -- then just decide to come out and announce the fact one day for no particular reason.  But according to them, it's all our fault. 

And there's the little matter of kidnapping hapless Japanese off the beach so North Korean spies can get Japanese lessons (couldn't they buy tapes or something?). 

What about that 2001 episode where Kim Jong-il's son put on a disguise and snuck into Japan on a phoney visa so he could visit Japanese Disneyworld?  Bush got it wrong: These guys aren't part of the "Axis of Evil;"  They belong in the "Association of Imbeciles."

Dangerous imbeciles, though.

Gnomon Gets BOV'ed

We were reviewed the other day by a girl from BloggyOpinions.com.  She liked our eclectic links and the little pictures we like to slap on every story, but darned if she didn't think we were just another site that "simply reports news, or snips of other peoples work." 

Well, we do point stuff out but we do it with such panache and sardonic wit that we thought we'd get more kudos that that.  Then again, we notice that she says this quite a bit. 

We'll give them a plug anyway (i.e., this article).  As Emerson said, "To be great is to be misunderblogged."
